The Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, also known as the LBJ Presidential Library, is the library and museum of Lyndon Baines Johnson, the 36th president of the United States, located on a 30-acre site on the University of Texas campus in Austin, TX. This library houses historical documents, photos, videos, and recorded telephone conversations from President Johnson’s political career. 

The museum portion of the LBJ Presidential Library contains more than 54,000 objects donated by President and First Lady Johnson, their family and friends, and the American people. Objects in the museum include antiquities, drawings from children, artistic masterpieces, and thousands of historical objects from President Johnson’s time in office. 

While the LBJ Presidential Library and Museum originally opened in 1971, it underwent a major redesign and reopened in 2012 after multi-million dollar renovations. 

Around 100,000 people from around the world visit the LBJ Presidential Library every year. Friends of the LBJ Library and The LBJ Foundation sponsor special activities and events. If you want to visit the LBJ Presidential Library and Museum, you may purchase tickets at the admissions desk or online. The library is open to the public seven days a week.
