Strategic Investment Management helps clients define their investment objectives and then design a customized portfolio strategy to achieve them. Our fiduciary approach to advising our clients ensures we are independent and objective in the advice we give.
Strategic Investment Management provides specialized asset management services for clients with portfolios of $50,000 or more, utilizing a vast universe of no-load/low transaction fee investment vehicles. We combine rigorous on-going research and analysis with an in-depth understanding of both our clients' individual needs, and the behavior of the world’s financial markets.
Our approach is holistic; we focus on asset management and education, as well as the lifespan relationship we build with our clients. This approach is very unique in a financial industry that is often segmented and outsourced. We want to help you with these issues. But most of all, we want to help you manage your money so you can manage your life.
Many times our clients' planning efforts can benefit from the expertise of highly specialized professionals including Financial Planners, Estate Planners and Tax Attorneys, CPAs, and Pension Plan Administrators. Recognizing this, we have established relationships with many top professionals in these fields, and coordinate efforts with them on behalf of our clients (and never accept referral fees for doing so). Strategic Investment Management has teamed with Richard P. Slaughter Associates, Inc. to form an investment committee that uses time-tested systems of analysis and decades of experience in the markets. Along with Slaughter Associates, we will implement an active management style to select what we believe is the best and most appropriate investments for you.

Who We Are
Roger Brooks, AIF®
Roger has more than 19 years of experience in the financial services industry. Roger started his career, 1993 as an Investment Banker with Chatfield Dean Investment Bankers in New York and moved to assisting individuals with active trading as a Registered Representative for Waterhouse Securities, which is now TDAmeritrade. In 1997, Roger joined Charles Schwab as an Investment Specialist in their Madison Square Garden office. Over a five year period, Roger provided investment help and advice to individual investors as an Investment Consultant within their private client department and as an Investment Representative in their retail group.
As an independent financial advisor for the clients of Strategic Investment Management, Roger is a specialist in helping individuals implement strategies to achieve financial independence by their desired age and helping small business owners meet their fiduciary responsibilities as the plan sponsor for their company’s 401(k).
Roger is a graduate of Brooklyn College with a BA in Television and Radio. . He currently holds the designation of Accredited Investment Fiduciary – AIF®. He is dedicated to furthering his knowledge in finance and spends numerous hours per year in continuing education.
Roger currently serves on the Board of Directors of Council on At Risk Youth (C.A.R.Y). He is a member of, National Association of Black Accountants.
James Sherrard, CFP®, AIF®
James Sherrard joined Strategic Investment Management in 2012 as an Advisor Assistant for Roger. He is responsible for client service, trading, and back office management.
James has a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Personal Financial Planning. He holds the Series 65 securities license. Prior to joining Strategic Investment Management and while in school James worked at Lubbock National Bank as a Lead Teller.
Kim Breedlove joined Strategic Investment Management in 2015 as a Financial Assistant. In her role she provides client relations and back office support to the Strategic Investment Management team.
Kim attended Texas A&M University and earned a BS degree in Food Science. Kim has over twenty years of experience in food manufacturing where she specialized in customer service, quality control and project management. She also has previous experience working for a financial planning firm where she served as the initial point of contact for clients, scheduled meetings and planned events.
