Strategy Session: Investing in the New Year

September 09, 2025

Hello everyone, this is Roger Brooks at Strategic Investment Management.

Can you believe that we’re almost in 2025? To get prepared, we want to share some insights from 2024 and look ahead to investment opportunities in 2025.

2024 brought its share of highs and lows in the financial markets. We saw resilience in key industries like technology and e-commerce. We also noticed global markets continue to adjust to rising interest rates and inflation.

Here at SIM, we focused on maintaining balanced, diversified portfolios for our clients. Our strategic investment advisors stayed flexible and made adjustments as necessary, proving that even in a volatile market, planning and adaptability can protect and grow your investments.

Our team came away with three main points from 2024:

1 - Markets will always change, so staying adaptable is crucial.

2 - Keeping an eye on successful industries can open opportunities for long-term gains.

3 - Market volatility isn’t going away, but careful risk management can provide a buffer in uncertain times. As we turn to 2025, it’s time to think about how we can leverage this past year’s lessons to build a more robust investment strategy.

We’re starting off the new year with three main strategies.

1 - Considering global markets, emerging industries, and sustainable investments to keep client portfolios diversified

2 - Focusing on long-term growth sectors, where innovation and demand are only accelerating

3 - Aligning your investments to potential policy changes with a tax-smart strategy

At SIM, our goal is to empower you with the resources and knowledge to invest with confidence. As you think about your financial goals for 2025, remember that having a thoughtful, flexible, and well-informed approach is key to seizing opportunities while managing risk.

If you’d like to talk more about your goals for the upcoming year, reach out to schedule a meeting. We’ll see you in 2025!
